Criminal Lawyers’ Association 2014 Past President Gala

On October 29, 2014, the Criminal Lawyer’s Association, one of the largest speciality legal organizations in Canada, representing more than 1,000 of Ontario’s defence counsel, honoured their past presidents with a dinner held in Toronto.

Norman Boxall, one of our partners, was honoured as being the most recent President of the CLA. In attendance were others partners of the firm: Donald Bayne, past winner of the G. Arthur Martin Criminal Justice Medal for outstanding contribution to criminal justice; Mark Ertel, past president of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa; and Ian Carter, recipient of the Regional Senior of Justice Award from the County of Carleton Law Association.

Norman Boxall is the only past president of the CLA to reside and work outside of Toronto, and his contribution to the CLA during 2 years as President was honoured. Mr. Boxall is also a past president of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
